About Conference

World Infectious Diseases and Global Health Conference Stockholm (Thinkershub IGC 2017) will be organized by Thinkershub organization with the theme “Emerging trends in Infection Control and Sustainable Healthcare”  during June 12 - 13, 2017 - Stockholm, Sweden.

We believe these objectives can be achieved through disseminating workshops, symposiums and open discussion forums happening at our Thinkershub IGC 2017 Conference. World Infectious Diseases and Global Health Conference is one of the inaugural thinkershub conferences organized in global venues to build a collaborative relationship between different entities to work toward shared objective of creating sustainable world.

Infectious diseases are caused by pathogenic microorganisms, such as bacteria, viruses, parasites or fungi; the diseases can be spread, directly or indirectly, from one person to another. Socioeconomic, environmental and behavioural factors, as well as international travel and migration, foster and increase the spread of communicable diseases. Vaccine-preventable, foodborne, zoonotic, health care-related and communicable diseases pose significant threats to human health.

In this digital age, conferences and face-to-face meeting are increasingly being substituted by webinars, video conferences and other forms of digital communication. There are some clear advantages with digital communication such as convenience, cost and time savings. Despite these advantages, the impact of communicating in person is much higher and is backed by scientific evidence. According to a study published in the Journal of Neuroscience, during face-to-face communication, synchronization of brain activity between partners occur leading to successful exchange of information. Besides, frequent eye-contact during face-to-face communication helps build trust between individuals and produce better outcomes such as increased creativity and productivity. Hence, conferences and meetings are necessary even in a world dominated by digital communication channels.

ThinkersHub facilitate these face-to-face interactions between scientists, technologists and other innovators around the world through THconferences. It covers a wide range of topics – from renewable energy to cancer – and aim to identify knowledge gaps in specific research areas. Sessions formats include keynote lectures, oral presentations, symposia, workshops and poster presentations. Besides, THconferences will serve as a platform for young researchers from around the world to showcase their work and for professional development through workshops and discussion forums.
